MARBLE & CARVE (2 DAY WORKSHOP) sunday
Dates: Sunday 25th of May & 1st of June
Time: 4 - 6 pm (both sessions).
Please arrive 5 minutes before class to pop your bags away & have a cup of tea.
Location: Pot Dispensary, 425 Chapel st South Yarra
Over two sessions, you will be guided through the process of throwing marbeled clay, learning how to trim & carve the clay to make your own set of bloody lovely cups & bowls.
Sessions One:
Will include a 15-20 minute demo on wheel-throwing, before spending an hour and a half throwing between 2-3 pieces each.
Tiarn will have prepped 3 types of marbeled clay for everyone, one with a stain and two with a blend of white stoneware with both dark stoneware & Fenneys Fine Blend.
A quick pack down and then bade your pots farewell for the week.
Sessions Two:
Will include a 15-20 minute demo on trimming. Learning how to make different kinds of foot rings, before spending 45 minutes trimming your 3 pieces.
Tiarn will give a second demo on carving and revealing the marbeled clay pattern thrown into the pots.
A quick pack down, before you each choose which colour you would like the inside of your pots to be glazed. You will then be permitted to give your pots a little kiss before leaving the studio.
What to wear:
Please wear close-toed shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting messy in. You can also wear a fun hat if you would like but it isn’t essential. I probably won’t wear one but I don’t want that to stop you from wearing one.
We advise you to trim your nails before class (as this can add some extra texture to your pieces). we do have a pair of nail trimmers in-store.
An apron will be provided for you all and you can get as much clay on it as you want.
Included in the cost of the class is all clay, tools, firing & glazing of up to 3 pieces each.
Each person will be able to choose either internal white or clear glaze for their pots, and all pieces will be available to collect 1 month after the class.

T&C
Please choose carefully, as we do not offer any refunds.
When you purchase a class we reserve that class/seat for you, at that specific date and time. In that way, we have honoured your purchase.
If for some reason (sickness, COVID, another appointment) you are unable to attend your class, you can send someone else in your place for no extra charge (please email us at yep@clamdogclay.com)
We take the highest quality care of your pieces. However, sometimes due to the fragile nature of ceramics things break or crack either in the kiln or in the drying process. We cannot be held responsible for any pieces that do not survive the kilns, your purchase is an acceptance of these terms. We will do our absolute best to manage the drying and handeling of the pieces, but the kiln gods can be a tempremental bunch.
